Steeped in history and with a unique architectural design, Billingehus is an icon in the world of hotels. Locals and faraway guests have travelled here since the 1970s. Perhaps they have come for the magnificent view of the Vastgota Plain or maybe to relish memorable activities, delicious meals and the proper relaxation that awaits.

Why not give it a whirl? When you visit us, we promise you will quickly enter into holiday mode without having to travel very far. 

This package deal includes:

  • Four nights at the hotel, with a breakfast buffet
  • Half a day at Earth Spa*
  • A 2-course dinner at Sandberg’s Dining Room 
  • A dish from our bistro menu at Uno Bar & Bistro

Children, 2–14 years: 1480 SEK. The price includes four nights with breakfast buffet, smaller portions of the 2-course menu and an optional bistro dish. During the summer months and selected school holidays, we also include half a day admission (morning) to our spa. Children under 2 are to be booked in by phone or email.

*Please note that we will happily admit children to our spa between 9 am and 1 pm during the summer, 25 June - 18 August, as well as during some school holidays. At any other time, we have a strict admission policy of only 15 years and above.

A range of experiences on Billingen Hill and in the Skaraborg region

Billingen Hill and the environs of Skaraborg have lots to offer. Take your time enjoying everything that the landscape, nature and culture have to offer. A few of our favourites are an early morning hike on the mountain and a trip to Varnhem Abbey. Why not make a day trip to the fortress in Karlsborg and then return “home” to Billingehus for a yummy meal? Do you like adventures? Make sure you don’t miss out on the bike tracks, the zip-line, and other thrilling activities available on Billingen Hill.

Varnhem Abbey

Visit Varnhem Abbey and walk beneath the arches that have been there for centuries, and explore this historical site inside and out. The abbey is included in the monastic town of Varnhem, a tourist attraction created after Jan Guillou’s historical book series about Arn, the Knight Templar.

Be surrounded by incredible architecture and feast your eyes on the monastic park while you relish something from the Abbey Café.

Hiking

There are some amazing rambling/hiking trails in this area of natural beauty. One of the most popular is the 57-kilometre trail called Billingeleden, which can be done in stages or as a three-day hike.  

You will no doubt have a fantastic experience in the bewitching, magical forest located on the slopes of Billingen Hill.

Billingen – a hill brimming with experiences

The spectacular views from Billingehus amaze everyone straight away, but when it comes to activities, you will find the best at the back of the hotel. Just around the corner, Billingen Hill offers a whole host of activities, such as mountain bike riding, cross-country skiing and incredible hiking trails with both adventure and beautiful views. Bar Arne – the small bar with the magnificent view. As we serve cocktails and bubbly, this is a place where you can treat yourself and perhaps celebrate something special. But, on the other hand, anyone who knows us knows there is always something to celebrate, so the threshold is not very high.

Food does not taste better outdoors. However, food tastes fabulous when you step inside a warm, cosy room after a day of outdoor pursuits. Preferably with good friends at Uno. On our bistro menu, there is something to suit everyone, and the kitchen stays open all evening.

At our hotel, you will find a shuffleboard, table tennis table and foosball, all free for guests to use. Perhaps you want to challenge yourself to a triathlon, or you will enjoy a game of round-robin together. Any equipment you may need is available at the reception.
